Binh Dinh city expects Mitsubishi to build a second factory in Vietnam on the land of Becamex Industrial Park.

Mr. Dung shared in a recent meeting between the leadership of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province and Mr. Kenichi Horinouchi, General Director of Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Group, the leader of this Group expressed their intention to find the location to set up an automobile factory in Vietnam.
Mr. Kenichi Horinouchi said that Binh Dinh has advantages of a deep-water port and favorable transportation infrastructure so it is determined as a top priority when choosing a place to build factories.
"Binh Dinh has a strong point about the harmony of economic zones and industrial parks with associated infrastructure, which is one of the locations for Mitsubishi Motors to explore opportunities for investment cooperation in automobile assembly plants," said Kenichi Horinouchi.
At this meeting, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Ho Quoc Dung also expressed his wish that Mitsubishi Motors Corporation would invest in the locality, especially to build an automobile assembly plant in Becamex Binh Dinh industrial park.
Chairman of Binh Dinh People's Committee committed that the province would have attractive mechanisms and policies for Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Group when businesses built automobile assembly plants in Becamex industrial park. "The fact that Binh Dinh is having a clean ground and an ỉmpoved administrative procedure will be the most favorable conditions for the Group to deploy current car production projects," Định said.
Binh Dinh is a key economic province in the Central region with complete technical infrastructure. Currently Quy Nhon Port is the most convenient international trade gateway of the Central Highlands region, Laos, northeastern Cambodia and the rest of the world. Besides, this locality also has a complete economic system, transport infrastructure.
There are 6 industrial parks in the province, of which the largest one is Nhon Hoi Economic Zone with an area of over 14,000ha, which has attracted many Japanese investors in production and business activities.
Regarding a second car factory in Vietnam, earlier (early 2018) on a trip to Vietnam, Mitsubishi Motors Group Vice President Kozo Shiraji had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue to discuss the plan to build the second automobile factory in Vietnam.
Mr. Kozo Shiraji said that Vietnam is one of the most important production areas, the group's potential market in Southeast Asia with the advantage of a young and skilled labor force.
"Currently Mitsubishi Motors is looking for a suitable location to build the second car factory in Vietnam with a total investment of about 250 million USD, an expected capacity of 30,000-50,000 units/year," said Mr. Kozo Shiraji to speak.
On the side of Binh Dinh, Becamex industrial park has been approved by the Government to invest in the construction and infrastructure business of Becamex Binh Dinh industrial park. The project has a total investment of about 3,333 billion VND. Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee is assigned by the Government to make compensation, site clearance, land lease ...; directing local functional agencies and investors to prepare and implement the industrial park implementation steps as prescribed.
In addition to the industrial land area of about 1,000ha, Becamex Binh Dinh has more than 400ha for urban, services and public utilities.
